Andy Hampsten is probably best known for his truly Epic ride in the 1988 Giro d'Italia in which he attacked the race during a blizzard on the Gavia pass, took over the leader's Maglia Rosa and went on to win the entire race. Conditions were so harsh that it became known as the Day the Strong Men Cried. It was also the day that Andy Hampsten became a Legend.
Hampsten would win many more races, including the famous Alpe d'Huez stage of the 1992 Tour de France, before retiring in Tuscany in the late 90's and taking up... farming. Specifically, Andy started harvesting and producing his own extra virgin olive oil and we are here to tell you, it is frickin' delicious.
This olive oil is not cheap. But it's also really, truly, ridiculously good. Andy is very passionate about his olive oil and once you taste it, you will be, too.
